Delegation of the City of Zrenjanin and representatives of the Dutch company "Green House“ that produces greenhouse visited Bijeljina City hall on Thursday, 25 February, and during that occasion discussed with Mayor Mićo Mićić and associates on the economic potential of Bijeljina and possible investment in the development of greenhouse production.

- Geothermal sources in Bijeljina region, with a water temperature of 75 ° C, are an excellent base for greenhouse production because they allow saving energy in the production that is protected from bad weather conditions, said Roni Ku, a representative of the Dutch company.

According to him, in the Netherlands, due to high energy prices greenhouses are combined with industrial production.-At the first meeting with the representatives of the Dutch company "Green House", we exchanged the experiences about the possibilities for utilization of geothermal resources in agricultural production, and presented them subsidies and benefits if they decided to invest in Semberija, said Mile Pejčić, Head of the Department for the Economy and Agriculture.

The geothermal energy, according to the experts estimations, provides an efficient and cost-effective cultivation of flowers and vegetables in greenhouses, but this kind of production is very limited at the moment.
