The City of Bijeljina and Swiss Caritas Continue Renovation of Schools across Semberija
Mayor Ljubiša Petrović signed an agreement today with representatives of Swiss Caritas to continue cooperation on the renovation of school buildings in the City of Bijeljina over the next three years.
Thanks to this partnership, numerous school buildings have already been renovated in the previous period. These renovations included roof structure reconstruction, installation of thermal insulation façades, and the introduction of new heating systems using heat pumps – all aimed at increasing energy efficiency.
Emphasising that Swiss Caritas is one of the City of Bijeljina’s most reliable partners, Mayor Petrović explained the details of the cooperation.
“Based on the previous agreement, energy efficiency was improved in three primary school buildings in Semberija – “Petar Kočić” in Brodac, “Sveti Sava” in Batković, and “Ćirilo i Metodije” in Glavičice,” Petrović recalled, adding that with today’s signing, the cooperation and activities will continue, and the next school to undergo renovation will be the “Dvorovi” Primary School in Dvorovi.
According to him, the annual value of the project is approximately 200,000 convertible marks, with the City of Bijeljina and Caritas each contributing BAM 100,000.
