Donor satisfied with the project implementation

Projects, equipping of the new counter-hall and the establishment of inter-municipal cooperation in the agricultural sector, which the City of Bijeljina co-financed along with the Government of the Swiss Confederation, were positively evaluated by an independent audit firm.

In March, the audit firm engaged by the Government of Switzerland, performed a detailed control of documents and conducted interviews with members of the project teams of both projects. On that occasion, the auditors confirmed there were no irregularities during projects implementation, and that all the prescribed procedures were obeyed

The equipping of the new counter-hall worth 165,000 KM was finished in September 2015, with a gola to provide better administrative services to citizens and the business sector. Thereof, 121,000 KM was allocated from the City budget, while 44,000 KM provided from donor funds.

The second project "Establishment of inter-municipal cooperation in the agricultural sector in the area of City of Bijeljina and municipalities Lopare and Ugljevik" was implemented in order to improve agricultural production through the establishment of the Inter-Municipal Council for agriculture and increasing the area for the production of vegetables in greenhouses. The project was implemented by UNDP and its total value was about 150,000 KM.

The City provided half of the funds, while the other half was provided by the Government of Switzerland.

The projects were implemented within the program "Integrated Local Economic Development" (ILDP), which is a joint initiative of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
